CHARLIE Sheringham is set to complete his transfer to Cherries after a medical tomorrow morning.

The 23-year-old striker has agreed terms to move to the Seward Stadium from Conference South outfit Dartford for a nominal fee.

Sheringham, who works for a firm of brokers in the Futures market in the City of London, needed to discuss a termination clause with his employer before he could commit to Cherries.

And although he would have been required to work a period of notice, it appears the clause has been waived, paving the way for Sheringham to pen a three-year deal with Cherries.

Sheringham, son of former England, Spurs and Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham, trained with the Cherries squad on Monday.

Delighted Cherries boss Lee Bradbury, told the club's official website: “This is a good signing for us, he is a good player with good movement and he's scored a lot of goals (19 in 29 league appearances for Darts).

“He ticks all the boxes for what we are looking for. He is stepping up in to training with the quality of players that we have and with it being full time, that can only be of benefit to him and I'm looking to get him involved in the squad on Saturday."

Sherringham was at Crystal Palace from 2006 to 2008 and also played for their feeder club in Baltimore.

In an earlier interview with the Kent Messenger, Bradbury said: “He’s technically good, a good finisher, he’s got good movement and is obviously in good form at the moment, so he’s in confident mood, which is great for a striker.

“There are good players in non-league and that’s why we’ve come to have a look around. We came (to Ebbsfleet) to see one player in particular and he’s not been involved but we’ve seen a few good players and it’s nice to get around to see a good game.”

• Requests by the Daily Echo to interview Eddie Mitchell, Lee Bradbury and Steve Fletcher were declined by the club on Monday and yesterday. We are waiting to hear whether similar requests today have been accepted.
