POLICE have been given more time to question three people arrested in connection with a murder inquiry launched after a body was found in north Dorset at the weekend.

Three men aged in their forties and a woman aged 25 were arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday after the body of 43-year-old Lenny Adams was found in a shallow grave at The Marshes, Semley, two miles north east of Shaftesbury.

One man was released without charge on Tuesday when police were given 36 more hours to question the other three people. Magistrates in Salisbury yesterday granted officers a warrant of detention for a further 24 hours.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of The Marshes, Marshes Farm and Semley between 8.45am on Friday, October, 14 and 12.30pm on Saturday, October 15.

In particular they would like to speak to anyone who saw a Land Rover along the lane to Coppit Dennis wood at about 5pm and had to pull in to let traffic pass near the railway bridge.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Incident Room at Salisbury Police Station on 01722 435331.
