Homage to musical theatre

The Three Phantoms, Bournemouth Pavilion, 6th

Home-grown West End star Earl Carpenter’s show The Three Phantoms will have five main performers and live music from the 30-piece Concert Philharmonia.

Matthew Cammelle has just finished touring as the Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, John Owen-Jones is starring as Jean Valjean in Cameron Macintosh’s 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables, and Anthony Gabriele is the musical director of Phantom in the West End.

The production receives a welcome dose of femininity from Rebecca Caine, who performed as Christine opposite Michael Crawford in Phantom’s early smash hit days.

Earl Carpenter, who has played many principal roles such as the phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, was born in Southampton but grew up around Poole and Bournemouth.
