TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Pokesdown at the weekend.
The men, aged 26 and 27 years old and both from Bournemouth, were arrested after a man was left with serious head injuries following an attack by a group of men outside the Seabournes pub in Christchurch Road on Saturday night.
They are currently helping police with their enquiries.
The victim, who is 24 years old and from Bournemouth sustained very serious head injuries in the attack.
He is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
Yesterday, a cordon was erected around the pub while detectives and a forensics officer examined the scene.
The pub was open as normal on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Becky Riggs from Bournemouth CID said she understood the offenders made off in the direction of Boscombe.
Officers were examining CCTV and making house-to-house enquiries following the attack.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said officers believe they are still looking for one man in connection with the incident.
They are keen to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything, including people who may have been in the area around the Seabournes or Pokesdown Railway Station.
