A JURY was due to retire today to consider its verdicts in a robbery trial at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Three men are accused of subjecting a 78-year-old farmer to a terrifying two-hour ordeal during which he was tied up, beaten and threatened in his remote farmhouse.

The court has been told that Leonard Langdown was robbed of 17 shotguns, two rifles, £4,000 in cash and a Toyota pick-up truck on March 24 this year.

Jake Borland, 21, of Beswick Avenue, Bournemouth, Michael Seddon, 22, of Bootle, Merseyside and 21-year-old Samir Lammali of Alton Road, Bournemouth, all deny any involvement in the robbery, which took place at Snailsbreach Farm, Bloxworth.

During the raid it is alleged they threatened to cut off Mr Langdown’s fingers and stab his dog.

Caleb Holland, 43, of Bedford Road South, Poole is also charged with robbery but is not said to have been at the farmhouse. He has also denied the charge.

During the month-long trial, jurors have heard that guns were later found at Kinson Common in Bournemouth, some of which belonged to Mr Langdown.

A fifth man, Ryan Dear, 21, of Frensham Close, Bournemouth is charged with handling stolen goods in relation to the guns, however he has pleaded not guilty.

The jury was also told more guns were found in a store at a house in Moore Avenue, which formerly belonged to Ryan Dear’s family.
