AN ELDERLY man is fighting for his life in hospital after a collision on Bournemouth’s West Cliff on Friday morning.
The 77-year-old was rushed to Poole Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the accident, which involved a green Volkswagen Passat, registered to a Southampton company, at the junction between Durley Chine Road and Chine Crescent, after police were called at 7.53am.
The 29-year-old male driver is not believed to have sustained any injuries. He was arrested by police on suspicion of a motoring offence.
Police closed the road between Durley Chine Road and the Durley Chine roundabout, reopening it at around 11am.
Investigators are asking for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. Police said the car was travelling between the Durley Chine roundabout and St Michael’s roundabout.
