It’s been a busy month or so for Poole UKYP.
For starters, progression has been made in light of our ‘School Council’s Charter', where we plan to have a recommended guideline for school councils in Poole to follow.
The aim of this is to rule out the problems highlighted by students in Poole, where they claim school councils were not operating effectively enough. The charter should help eliminate these issues.
The charter has been written up, and the final stage that remains is issuing them to schools in Poole.
The Poole UKYP Facebook page has been successful in reaching out to many young people for views on the charter, as well as the creation of our online forum.
The forum is intended to link young people to councillors, MPs and related workers, to provide more stable communication between young people and decision makers via the internet.
The online forum will have reached a further stage of development by January, hopefully nearing completion.
Finally: election night. The election night will be held on the 27th January 2012 to elect the new MYPs for Poole 2012/2013.
