A MAN who turned up at a Bournemouth pub brandishing two knives has been jailed for 28 weeks.
Francis Tanner, of Tarrant Road, Muscliff, Bournemouth, first went to the Broadway pub in Castle Lane West on the evening of July 8 last year, when he was asked to leave because he was carrying a glass bottle and behaving aggressively.
Prosecutor Stuart Ellacott told Bournemouth Crown Court that Tanner was punched by a customer when he raised a bottle towards him.
Tanner was heard to say: “I’m going to get my mates from Liverpool. You lot are dead.”
He returned with the knives and began waving them around.
The man who had punched him fell backwards. Tanner dropped one knife when the man kicked him. Another customer was slashed on the chest. Tanner dropped the second knife and fled, but was arrested.
The 25-year-old admitted affray and possession an offensive weapon. He had been electronically tagged, on a curfew and had been attending Narcotics Anonymous.
Passing sentence, Judge Roger Jarvis said he was taking into account the efforts Tanner had made to improve his situation.
