POOLE’S Twin Sails Bridge will open to traffic on Monday, February 27, the council has announced.
The long-awaited £21m second harbour crossing spanning the Back Water Channel will be officially opened with a ceremony on March 9 – the 85th anniversary of the opening of Poole Bridge.
A special community weekend will be held on February 25 and 26 before vehicles are allowed to cross.
On the Saturday, mayor Cllr Graham Wilson and invited guests will lead the first group to trek across the Twin Sails. He will then invite all local residents to walk across.
