Sources close to Portchester School have dismissed claims of a mass brawl at the school as “nonsense” and have criticised “highly inaccurate” reporting by some parts of the media.

Reports have talked of a fight involving 30-40 children on the afternoon of Kyle Rees' death at the all-boys school in Harewood Avenue in Bournemouth.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a number of lines of inquiry at this stage and that includes the various stories we have seen on social networking sites and on other media.

“We are speaking to a number of teachers and pupils at the school.”
