THE man leading the investigation into Kyle’s death is Detective Superintendent Kevin Connolly, the head of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team.
Yesterday police officers remained at school on Harewood Avenue while inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death continued.
Police were called on Monday evening following an incident that took place at Portchester School at around 2.10pm in which Kyle sustained a serious life-threatening head injury.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Monday evening but was later transferred to Southampton General Hospital in a critical condition but passed away on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident, initially for an offence of assault and subsequently on suspicion of manslaughter.
The teenager has been released on police bail.
