POOLE children’s hospice Julia’s House is launching a Fundraising On a Plate campaign and inviting people to cook up some novel money-making ideas.
Community fundraising manager Lin Hudswell said: “We thought a food theme would be fun and offer a lot of scope for imaginative charity events. And they don’t have to be tasteful.
“How about dishing up your own version of a TV favourite by hosting a Come Dine With Me evening or Masterchef competition?”
The campaign was kicked off by Frankie & Benny’s at Tower Park which offered customers a free breakfast in return for a donation to the children’s charity, raising more than £1,300.
The Langtry Manor Hotel in Bournemouth has also got into the spirit by offering to donate half the proceeds of every cream tea it sells on Monday, March 12.
