DESIGNS created by Bournemouth school children for a memorial to a Red Arrows pilot who lost his life near the town are on display.
A special exhibition has now been opened at Bournemouth Library showcasing all the designs submitted by school children for the Flt Lt Jon Egging memorial, which will be at the East Overcliff.
It follows a competition which was won by pupils from Kinson Primary School after Flt Lt Egging’s widow, Dr Emma Egging, and his mum, chose their design.
Cllr John Beesley, the leader of Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “The Jon Egging memorial will serve as a long-standing mark of respect from the people of Bournemouth.
“It’s wonderful that our young people in Bournemouth were given the opportunity by Jon’s family to put forward their own design ideas for the memorial.
“With the help of the appointed artist, I’m sure the winning designs will inspire a fitting memorial.
“We know people want somewhere they can pay their respects.”
