DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man allegedly assaulted a police officer in Blandford.
The alleged incident happened outside Blandford Post Office along The Close at around 2.30pm on Tuesday February 28 when a male police officer sustained a bruised leg.
DC Paula Hollick, of county CID, said: “I understand that several members of the public were in the area as this incident took place.
“I would urge these people to contact the police so that I can find out exactly what happened.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 28/244, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
• Paul Tulley, 36, of no fixed abode, has been charged with assaulting a constable. He will next appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday March 21.
