IF you want to get involved in the Olympics without leaving Poole, the council is seeking volunteers to help celebrate London 2012.
Friendly, approachable people are being sought by Borough of Poole for events to help provide an Olympic Legacy in the town.
With a training event on the evening of April 16, volunteers would need to be available on May 27 for the Poole Festival of Running, July 13 for the Olympic Torch Relay and August 18 for Poole’s Olympic Legacy event.
Friendly and efficient hosts would provide information and assistance and help manage crowds.
Cllr Judy Butt, cabinet member for public engagement, said: “There are three fantastic events to choose from or you could help at all three.
“If you have never volunteered before why not give it a try and see if it’s for you?”
Volunteers must be 18 or over. To register, email your name and contact number to recreation. development@poole.gov.uk or call 01202 261312 by April 12.
