MORE than a thousand job hunters flocked to the latest Daily Echo Jobsfair yesterday.
The event at the Premier Inn, Westover Road, Bournemouth, saw almost 1,200 job-hunters getting the chance to see what was on offer from a variety of companies looking for talent.
The event was again sponsored by Health-on-Line.
Sales advisor Sam Dean said: “The thing is we’ve expanded so much recently and we need more employees, so last time it was a success and we hope this time it will be even more of a success.”
Dozens of firms were looking to fill roles and jobseekers also had the chance to take part in workshops held by Best Training.
Sophie Keith, recruitment officer at Insurance 4 Retirement, said: “It’s really good, we’ve had quite a few people in for interviews; it’s very busy this year.
“We’ve done three now and every single one has turned out well with a good response.”
Kate Crawford, from SOS Recruitment, said: “We’ve had some good people through the door and taken on people for temporary and permanent posts.”
Emma Gardner, HR officer at the Wessex Autistic Society, added: “It’s been extremely busy, there’s been a lot of people come through that could be very interested in our positions.”
Angela Boyer, recruitment manager at the Echo, said people were queuing to get in and more than 100 people came through the door in the first ten minutes.
“It’s great to see we have a good mixture of employers and training providers and a good mixture of job seekers,” she said.
