A TEAM of innocent entrepreneurs found themselves under lock and key on Tuesday as they took part in the LV=Streewise Jail Bail.
The eight fundraising fugitives were handed an arrest warrant by the High Sheriff of Dorset Alan Frost as they met Bournemouth Borough Council retiring chief executive Pam Donnellan and her successor Tony Williams at the Town Hall for afternoon tea. They were then taken on a tour of the Lansdowne custody suite where they came face to face with Chief Constable Martin Baker, before being locked up in the Streetwise safety centre jail in Wallisdown.
The fugitives remained behind bars until they each raised their £1,000 bail money.
The fugitives taking part were: Kirsty Davies-Sumpter, director of KDS Business Solutions; Mike Dwyer, president of Bournemouth Rotary Club; Mark Hayward, global payments client relationship director at Barclays Bank; Paul Kinvig, former managing director of the Dorset Echo and former CEO of Hampshire Economic Partnership; John Raymond LV=Streetwise trustee and former High Sheriff of Dorset; Ian Rodd audits and accounts director at Ward Goodman; Simon Scarborough, general manager of the Norfolk Royale Hotel and Steve Stringer, managing director of Pre-Heat.
Alison Shelton, Streetwise manager, said: “The event raised over £11,000, of which £5,500 is going to Streetwise, £4,000 is going to Safebus and £1,500 will be donated to the BCHA.”
