BACK in 2002, practically everyone was humming the catchy lyrics “Ms Dy-na-mi-TEE-ee”. The rapper hit the pop scene with a bang, her debut album A Little Deeper attracted rave reviews and won the Mercury music prize.
Her second album in 2006, Judgement Days, fared less well among the critics and in the charts, and her label pulled the plug. Ms Dynamite, real name Niomi Mclean-Daly, shied away from the mainstream scene, preferring to add her voice to a series of songs, including Lights On, the second hit single from London dubstep star Katy B.
But now the elusive singer is coming to Bournemouth on Saturday night. Fans of the feisty musician will be able to see her at the O2 Academy Bournemouth as part of the club night UKF Bournemouth. She will perform a live PA that will include the tracks Wile Out, Red Light and Lights On, as well as old favourites including, Dy-na-mitee and Boo.
The bass heavy night will also DJ sets of drum and bass and dubstep from Sub Focus, Friction, Nick Bedlam and many more.
