Mudeford Men’s Club donated nearly £4,000 to local charities recently.
Members of the club presented cheques worth £3,900 to good causes last weekend.
The money has been raised through various events and a fundraising drive over the Christmas period which included the Grand Boxing Day Charity Auction and the Balloon Race.
Club president Laurie Wilkinson thanked the members for their generosity and the volunteers who organise each event.
Mudeford RNLI received a £250 donation, Help for Heroes were given £550, Christchurch Food Bank collected £1,000, Soul Juice, providing events and activities for local teenagers, received £1,000 and Stanpit Village Hall was given £1,000 to assist with the costs of renovation, fire safety and decoration work which is still ongoing at the hall.
The club also sponsored member Shaun Hastings with £100 to undertake a skydive in aid of research into treating Alzeimer’s Disease.
