A MAN who was hit by a car after repeatedly stepping in front of traffic on a busy dual carriageway was discharged from hospital on Monday.
The incident closed the Wessex Way between St Paul’s Roundabout and the Springbourne slip road, heading north, for three hours on Saturday.
Several drivers swerved to avoid hitting the 31-year-old man until the collision with a car being driven by a 40-year-old woman from Ringwood.
He suffered a glancing blow after being thrown over the car bonnet, striking the windscreen and the roof of the vehicle.
The woman driver suffered severe shock and the injured man was taken to Poole hospital suffering from facial and skull injuries.
A Dorset police spokeswoman said he was due to be released from hospital yesterday.
Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to telephone 01202 222222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
