POLICE want information after a man was the victim of a “cowardly” assault in Blandford.
An 18-year-old from the town was attacked between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Thursday, March 8, on the blue bridge linking Morrison’s car park with Stour Meadows.
The victim was attacked from behind as he was walking over the bridge.
Afterwards he ran to the nearby skate park after the attack, where he met his friend. He suffered minor injuries to his knees, arms, face and head and was later taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
Police Constable Richard Cooke, of Blandford police, said: “This was a cowardly and unprovoked attack.
“It is not clear if the victim was assaulted by one person, or by a small group of people.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or from anyone who has any information about those responsible.”
