BOTH Poole MPs are recovering following emergency hospital care.
Conservative Robert Syms suffered suspected appendicitis on Friday – while Liberal Democrat Annette Brooke broke her wrist and hip three days previously.
Mr Syms, who was in Poole Hospital over the weekend after complaining of stomach pain, quipped: “It is obviously not a good time to be Poole MP.”
Doctors drained Mr Syms’ appendix and discharged him on Sunday.
Despite his discomfort, he was able to attend a House of Commons adjournment debate on Monday.
Meanwhile, Lib-Dem MP Annette Brooke, has also been in the wars.
Mrs Brooke, member for Mid-Dorset and North Poole, suffered a painful hip and wrist fracture after tripping over a paving stone in London.
Yesterday, as the Daily Echo went to press, she was still in hospital where an operation has been decided against.
“I’ve just heard about Robert Syms,” she said.
“When I was ill five years ago, Judy Butt was mayor, and she broke her leg – there must be something in it.”
