BOURNEMOUTH’S branch of Debenhams has won praise for its revamp.
The town centre store was discussed at March’s meeting of the town’s chamber of trade.
Roger Parker, the council’s town centre manager, said: “They are carrying out a complete transformation of an old and difficult property.
“My recommendation is to go to the main restraint on the top floor, they have opened up the views, and you get a fantastic look across the town.
“Gradually, what you will see is that they will do that on other floors, and they will be opened up to the light, and Debenhams will be laying new floors.”
The Bournemouth branch is one of 45 Debenhams stores being modernised.
