THE hunt is on for a Bournemouth resident who deserves the honour of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award.
Councillor Chris Rochester, the current Mayor of Bournemouth, has set up a one-off award scheme.
The aim is to recognise and celebrate one resident’s achievements or service to the town.
Nomination forms and rules can be found on the council’s website or by contacting the mayor’s office at mayor@ bournemouth.gov.uk.
They need to be received by the closing date of April 30, when they will then be sent to ward councillors who will select one candidate per ward.
Judging is due to take place on Tuesday, May 15.
Shortlisted nominees will be announced on Friday, May 25.
They will all be invited to a full council meeting on Tuesday, June 12.
The new mayor will then announce the winner and the HM Lord Lieutenant of Dorset will present them with the award.
