IT could be every teenage girl’s dream...
Being whisked off to New York to meet global sensation One Direction, watching the young heartthrobs in concert and having more than £500 spending money thrown in.
For Wimborne 17-year-old Lauren Pudwell, it all came true when she won a TV competition.
“I was too scared to say anything to them,” Lauren revealed.
“I just smiled.”
The Queen Elizabeth’s School pupil, whose favourite song is More Than This, says her five-day jaunt in the Big Apple was the trip of a lifetime.
A fan since the boyband’s early days on The X Factor, she won the all-inclusive trip for two after entering a ChartShow TV music channel competition by text.
She answered the question: ‘What is the name of One Direction’s album?’ correctly with ‘Up All Night’ to win the prize.
Mum Sarah Pudwell remembers finding out on Valentine’s Day.
“She phoned me at work screaming,” Mrs Pudwell laughed.
“I didn’t think it was true until we got more information. She took her dad Nigel, and they were put up in a four star hotel, with a limo to meet the boys before the concert.”
Lauren clammed up at the sight of her favourite, 18-year-old Niall Horan, at Radio City Music Hall on Friday, March 9.
“I think Lauren was quite quiet when she met them, and went all nervous,” Mrs Pudwell, 42, said.
“Justin Bieber was her favourite popstar at one point, but I think it has swapped over to One Direction now.”
Lauren, who has one older brother, also took a helicopter ride and spent her cash prize on clothes and visiting the city’s sights.
