A WEEK of marine-themed events is on offer from Dorset Wildlife Trust this Easter holiday.
They range from glass bottom kayaking and underwater goggle viewers to a marine-themed Easter egg hunt along the shores of Kimmeridge Bay.
Exploring the coast could reveal some snakelocks anemones, broad-clawed porcelain crabs and the corkwing wrasse.
And the trust’s Fine Foundation Marine Centre will be revealing its wildlife from the bay in new aquariums and displays.
“Spring is a wonderful time to get down on the seashore when the seaweeds are in their most vivid colours and lots of creatures are building nests and laying eggs – just like on land,” said marine awareness officer Julie Hatcher.
“It’s an opportunity not to be missed.”
The glass bottomed kayak safari takes place on Tuesday April 3 at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm with a qualified instructor.
Book in advance, £25 per person, 12-plus only.
The Easter egg hunt takes place at Worbarrow Bay on Thursday 5th at 1pm to 2.30pm and on Tuesday 10th at Kimmeridge Bay from 2pm to 3.30pm. It costs £2 per person.
From April 1 the marine centre is open 10.30am to 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday and weekends plus Tuesday to Sunday during school holidays.
