BRAVE members of the public chased off would-be robbers who threatened a Bournemouth taxi driver.
Two offenders attacked the driver who had taken them to Glenmeadows Drive in Kinson at 10.45pm on Friday March 16.
They threatened him and attempted to steal cash but fled empty-handed when passers-by came to the aid of the driver.
Detectives are keen to speak to the Good Samaritans and also to any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident.
The 36-year-old taxi driver was not hurt.
Detective Constable Mark Portelli from Bournemouth CID told the Daily Echo: “I have not been able to identify the members of the public that assisted the taxi driver.
“I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about this incident or those responsible to contact police urgently.”
Dorset Police are available on 101 or use the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111. Mobile phone tariffs may apply.
A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of robbery has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
