A BOURNEMOUTH Borough Council worker has been reprimanded after being caught parked on double yellow lines.
Daily Echo reader Philip Cromie caught the driver in the act in Charminster Road.
He said: “I spotted this council van pull up and park on double yellow lines with kerb markings, while the driver got out and went to Tesco Express to buy a newspaper. I have no doubt that if I had done the same thing I would have received a penalty.”
Margaret Leslie, parking operations manager at the council, said: “We would not expect a member of staff to park in this location even if they are on council business.
“This matter has been dealt with and the individual has been informed not to park in this location in the future.
“Staff who receive a Penalty Charge Notice receive the same consideration as a member of the public.”
