A WEST Moors woman says she looks so good at 100 thanks to her daily sherry.
Violet Wilson, who’s known as Peggy, celebrated her landmark birthday on Wednesday with a party at Colten Care’s Brook View nursing home – including a visit from charity Caring Canines’ pug Daisy.
Peggy, the third youngest of 11 children, was born in London just as Captain Scott’s ill-fated South Pole expedition ended and a few weeks before the Titanic disaster.
Brook View Matron Ruth Wildman said: “When I asked her how she looked so good at 100 she said it was down to the daily sherry.”
Peggy, one of Brook View’s three centenarians, used to have her own clothes boutique in Essex and a racing greyhound.
