A BICYCLE made for two will be raising money for Sport Relief when five pedallers from Poole take to the road.
The group from The Aldbury in Parkstone, a Colten Care dementia home, will cycle a 70-mile relay on Thursday.
Setting out at 6am from the company’s Abbey View home in Sherborne, they will visit eight of the 18 care homes in the south.
The cyclists will stop at Sturminster Newton, Blandford, Ferndown, Bournemouth, Mudeford and New Milton, finishing at Belmore Lodge at Lymington. Riders will swap along the way and be bussed on so that the tandem, borrowed from Country Lanes Cycle Centre in Brockenhurst, keeps moving all the time. Also taking part are social carer Megan Hunt, domestic assistant Pip Brown, healthcare assistant Reece Avis and activities organiser Lynda Pinckney.
