POLICE are trying to trace a car driver following a hit-and-run accident which left a motorcyclist with serious internal injuries.

The 10.10 am collision, involving two cars and a motorcycle at the entrance to a car boot sale, resulted in the closure of Ringwood Road, near Ashley Heath, for five hours on Sunday.

The injured male biker, a 31-year-old Shaftesbury man travelling on a blue Suzuki, received treatment at the scene from paramedics before being taken to Poole Hospital.

PC Jay Griffin of Dorset Police said: “I believe one of the cars involved failed to stop at the scene. The vehicles involved were a blue Citroen C1 Rhythm car and a black car, described as an old Honda Civic saloon.

“The Citroen driver, a 17-year-old girl from New Milton, was uninjured. The driver of the black car has yet to be identified and located.
