PUPILS from Poole High School took part in three weeks of fundraising for a charity very close to their hearts, writes Tara Cox.
Teachers, registration groups and pupils all helped raise at least £270 for the British Heart Foundation.
Student Beth Mowlam, 18, said: “Every year we take part in some sort of fundraising for the BHF, and we all love to contribute because it’s such an important cause.”
The three weeks of fundraising included lunchtime singing shows by teachers, CPR dummy practice alongside the BHF Vinnie Jones instructional video, raffles, donation boxes and even a silent auction.
Holly Connell, 18, who helped to run the auction, said: “Awareness for the BHF has definitely been raised; we have even had year 10 pupils wanting to fundraise for their end of year concert.
“We had a charity event week just before half term too, so the fact we have raised this much money again in such a short time is fantastic.”
Jodie Simpson, 18, added: “It’s a charity everyone can relate to.”
