A BID to turn a former Boscombe hotel into 12 bedsits is being considered by Bournemouth council.
The former Si Rema Hotel in Manor Road has not been used as a hotel since 2009 and is “no longer viable” according to the applicants Terry Kelly and Hayden Martin.
The application seeks to convert it to a ‘house in multiple occupation’, with 12 bedrooms across three floors.
Each room will have kitchenette-type facilities and shared bathrooms.
Information sent in with the planning application states: “The Si Rema Hotel has not been in holiday use for a number of years and has been marketed as such. No purchasers have come forward willing to maintain the property in hotel use and market forces for this particular property in this location suggest that such a use is no longer viable.”
The application will be considered in due course.
