The next meeting of the Bournemouth Airport Community Fund takes place in May – and local groups are reminded to get their grant applications in before the end of April.
The Fund is open to community, social, recreational and environmental groups within the Borough of Christchurch and has four objectives:
• To bring the community closer together through facilities for sport, recreation and various other leisure time activities;
• To offer environmental improvement and/or heritage conservation;
• To improve awareness of environmental issues through environmental education;
• To encourage and/or protect wildlife; The Community Fund was set up in 2008 and since then over £35,000 has been awarded to benefit groups throughout the area, including Mudeford Sea Scouts, Christchurch Football Club, Walkford Allotments Association and the recently-launched Dial-a-Bus service.
Further information and an application form, can be downloaded from the ‘Environment and Community’ section of the Airport’s website: www. bournemouthairport.com Closing date for receipt of applications is April 30.
