A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision with a car in Parkstone on Sunday evening.
The 45-year-old Bournemouth man was riding his Kawasaki 1000cc bike along Ashley Road around 5.50pm when the incident took place just past the junction with Weymouth Road and opposite Wesley Road.
The motorcyclist was riding in the direction of Sea View.
A 30-year-old woman from Poole driving a Peugeot 306 was driving in the opposite direction with her 12-year-old daughter as the front seat passenger.
The driver was stationary at the crown of the road and indicating to turn right across Ashley Road into the parking bays outside the parade of shops adjacent next to KFC.
As she turned, the motorcycle collided with the nearside of the Peugeot.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the motorcyclist received severe injuries and despite the efforts of police, members of the public and ambulance staff, who administered CPR, he died at the scene.
The mother and daughter were treated for extreme shock but not taken to hospital.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision should contact Dorset Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
