Parent and PTA chairwoman Liesl Stuart-Brown said: “It’s a lovely school. The children always seem happy. I was here as a pupil and my two daughters are at the school at the moment.”
Parent Sharon Bethell, who has been making three mosaic murals inspired by pupils’ drawings to mark the centenary, said: “The atmosphere is very friendly. It’s like a village school, very community-based.”
Teacher Sue Clark urged ex-pupils interested in the centenary to get in touch. “Come in and share your experiences with the children. It makes history meaningful. It’s such an important time of life.”
Head teacher Jane Davies said: “We have got brilliant staff and fabulous support from parents. The teachers enjoy coming in every day and we’re always oversubscribed.”
SCHOOL pupil Bridie Thomas, aged eight, commented: “I like the literacy.”
She added: “I like every book.
“I like all of it.”
Pupil Ella Kay, seven, said: “I like Leonardo. It’s where the teachers set up different activities for us in different classes and we get to choose which we go to. We’re doing sailors’ knots out of pastry.”
Year two pupil Sam Du Sautoy said: “I like maths and literacy. I like information books and stories, especially Football Academy books. I don’t like art that much.”
