POLICE are hunting two robbers who threatened a terrified man at knifepoint near a Bournemouth golf club.

The hold-up happened on steps approaching Meyrick Park Golf Club on Sunday, April 1, at 9.30pm.

Details of the incident have just been released by Dorset police.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, is believed to be a foreign student. It is thought that he was on his way work at the nearby leisure centre, where he is employed by a contract cleaning company, when he was robbed a short distance from an underpass.

The robbers fled with his bag containing an IPad, Canon D600 digital camera and cash.

DC Jon Sainsbury of Bournemouth CID said: “This was a cowardly offence that has caused the victim considerable distress.

“I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information about the two men responsible to contact me urgently “I would also like to hear from anyone who saw two men loitering in the Meyrick Park Golf Club area on Sunday night.”

One of the robbers, who struck on a dimly lit path leading to The Lodge, is black or dark skinned, about 5ft 7in tall and aged between 25 and 30. He has a skinny build and short, curly dark hair.

He was clean shaven and wearing a white T-shirt with a large logo on the front, baggy blue jeans and large ‘skateboard style’ trainers. He spoke with a foreign accent.

His accomplice is white, around 6ft tall, between 20 and 25-years-old with a large build and spiked, messy style hair.

He was also clean shaven and wearing a dark T-shirt, baggy jeans and ‘skateboard style’ trainers. He spoke with an English accent.
