AN ELDERLY Highcliffe woman has died after suffering fatal head injuries on the seafront near her home.
Gwyneth Watts, 95, was found collapsed on steps near the Cliffhanger Cafe in Wharncliffe Road on Monday, April 2.
She was taken to hospital but died a short time later. An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned for identification.
Senior coroner’s officer Julian Jeneson said: “Gwyneth was partially sighted and I understand that she had a fall in which she sustained fatal head injuries.
“The ambulance service received the initial report from an anonymous caller and I am particularly keen to speak with this person or anyone else who may have witnessed Gwyneth’s fall.”
