A £1.5million contract has been signed between Borough of Poole and RM Education to provide ICT facilities at Ashdown Technology College on Canford Heath.
This is part of the school’s £15m development programme and under the contract RM will provide facilities including a high-quality wireless network to support large numbers of mobile devices, desktop PCs, television and video learning resources with large information screens in key positions.
Sound recorders, cameras, video cameras including green-screen technology and other devices will be provided.
Cllr Mike White, cabinet portfolio holder for major projects said: “The £1.5m will allow the school to renew all its hardware and software, installing the latest technology to help make learning more engaging and effective.”
The £15m development includes a comprehensive refurbishment of existing facilities and the construction of a new two-storey extension. The work is due to be completed by September 2013.
