A RENEWED appeal has gone out to dog owners to act responsibly following a rise in the number of complaints about dog fouling.
Posters are being displayed on Bournemouth refuse trucks in a bid to raise awareness about dog fouling and other anti-social behaviour including graffiti and littering.
The number of complaints about dog fouling in the town has risen significantly with 151 reports in the first quarter of the year, compared to 209 for the whole of 2011.
Incidents of graffiti and litter are also on the rise.
Cllr John Beesley, leader of the council, said: “Our street services team has been carrying out targeted clean ups to try and tackle the issues as well as our environmental team who carry out regular patrols.
“But we also need residents to take responsibility for keeping our streets clean.”
