A TEENAGER who contracted a deadly bout of meningitis as a baby has raised more than £1,000 for research with a skydive.
Southbourne girl Hannah Doyle, 16, was rushed into intensive care at the tender age of six weeks with meningococcal septicaemia. Miraculously she made a full recovery, and recently jumped out of a plane at 10,000ft for the National Meningitis Trust.
Hannah said: “At last I finally jumped.
“After three false starts due to bad weather, I finally did my skydive at the end of March. The weather and conditions were perfect.
“The experience was amazing and I will never forget the excitement of jumping out at 10,000 ft.”
Hannah would like to thank her tandem partner and the SkyDive Southcoast staff.
