A GROUP of horse lovers will be raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness on May 13 by taking part in a sponsored ride wearing bras.

Bournemouth mother Emma Morgan, 33, and her friend Anna Moors, 31, of Fordingbridge, came up with the idea for Jugs and Gee Gees as a tribute to Annie Madin.

Annie, also of Fordingbridge, owns Folly, the horse that Emma rides, and has undergone chemotherapy following surgery for breast cancer.

Emma and Anna will be joined by other riders on the route from the Arniss Equestrian Centre in Godshill near Fordingbridge to the Bat and Ball pub at Breamore, where they plan to stop off for a barbecue, drinks and cupcakes.

Bank cashier Emma, 33, who has two young children, said: “It’s snowballed. Lots of people are asking if they can do it.

“Where the horses are kept, a couple of other riders are either going to do it themselves or get friends to ride their horses.

“The equestrian stables are going to send some of their people as well.

“If the weather’s really nice, we could be in bikini tops.

“If not, we’ll be in bras on top of vest tops.

“My mum is making a bra for my horse, so it should be quite funny.”

Emma added: “I think Annie is quite touched by it.

“She’s a lovely lady. She was in the bank where I work when I overheard her say did they know anyone who wanted a horse on loan.”
