A BOURNEMOUTH councillor filled a trolley with plastics to celebrate the launch of a new recycling initiative.
Cllr Michael Filer, cabinet member for transport, cleaning and waste, was at Sainsbury’s, Castlepoint to showcase the different plastics which can now be recycled.
As well as bottles, residents can now recycle plastic food containers, which will help improve the local and global environment by reducing carbon emissions and energy use.
Cllr Filer says that the initiative is something they haveve wanted to do for a long time.
He said: “I would encourage all residents to help us by recycling plastic food containers, which will improve the local environment and save public money.”
