TEENAGERS from Arts University College at Bournemouth (AUCB) have been named among 10 winners of a design competition.
Teodora Kirova, 18, from Poole, Tannaz Falahatzadeh, 16, from Bournemouth, and Kate Sturney, 16, from Bearwood, took part in ‘Who Are You?’.
The competition was organised by the AUCB and JCDecaux. Entrants had to produce work that best described who they are in the world today.
Judges who came up with the shortlist included Rhea Thierstein, who was the art director for Jessie J’s Price Tag video, and Gavin Lucas, a senior writer at Creative Review magazine.
The public then voted for the best 10 using Facebook and the winners will have their work supersized on 50 billboards across the country.
Teodora, originally from Bulgaria, came up with a thumbprint on glass, and Tannaz, originally from Iran, a projection of images on a naked back with the words ‘I Am What Made Me’. Kate created a photo of someone being lifted off Bournemouth beach by multi-coloured balloons.
