DRIVERS reported long delays around yesterday as Tuckton Bridge closed for four days of repairs.
Traffic along Barrack Road in Christchurch was slow in the morning with the same situation at Iford and Pokesdown.
Traffic was reportedly queuing from the Southbourne end of Pokesdown Hill and Yellow Buses suffered delays of more than half an hour to some services.
The work will be finished on Friday afternoon once the bridge reopens.
The bridge is closed to allow work to replace the road surface and both approaches to the bridge. One footway remains open for pedestrians and cyclists.
It has been programmed to take place during the school holiday period when the impact on traffic and in particular school buses will be reduced.
