A WOMAN reported being sexually abused as a child when she allegedly saw the man involved driving a nursery minibus more than 20 years later, a court heard.

The woman told Bournemouth Crown Court how she kept the alleged abuse by Adrian Strong a secret until she found out that he was first running a nursery in Dorchester and then in Winfrith.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, anonymously flagged up the alleged crimes to the NSPCC when she saw the 59-year-old driving the minibus in 2007, the hearing was told.

David Bartlett, prosecuting, said the NSPCC passed on the anonymous complaint to Dorset County Council’s social services and the council decided not to rescind his childminding registration.

Mr Bartlett said the alleged offences happened from 1988 to 1991.

Strong, of Stowcastle Street, Poundbury, denies four charges of indecency with a child and a charge of indecent assault, with those offences relating to the two babysitters.

Another two charges of indecent assault relate to a child, firstly aged between two or three years, for the first charge and between three and six years for the second charge.

The trial continues.
