IT happened three years ago in a Wiltshire village not that far from here. A boy of five was accidentally shot in the head with an air rifle.
It resulted in a terrible tragedy and highlighted the danger of air-powered guns shooting pellets or steel balls.
These things are powerful. Everyone, whatever their age, knows that.
Was it a BB gun that was fired through the bedroom window of 92-year-old Mr Willy Webb in Bournemouth? If so, you wonder what kind of person, whatever their age, would do such a thing.
Let’s hope the youngsters apparently responsible for that vandalism are aware of what might have happened if Mr Willy Webb had been hit by a pellet or ball bearing.
Let’s hope, too, that those responsible are not proud of their asinine behaviour.
And let’s hope that they start showing some sense... instead of behaving like a bunch of sponge-for-brains who appear to breakfast on bowls of stupid.
