WEATHER permitting, a Poole mum will hit the heights on Saturday when she throws herself from a plane at 12,000ft.
Overcoming her fears, Joanne Tomlin will undertake a tandem jump at Old Sarum and freefall at 120mph before a five-minute descent to earth.
The co-owner of Poole-based company Meridian Lifts, the 41-year-old mum of three is taking on the daredevil skydive in memory of close family friend Ryan Eaton, of Canford Heath, who died from a rare condition aged just 17.
She said: “I have been doing funny little things since I had my 40th. I have learnt to ski and had flying lessons. I am really looking forward to it.”
The added incentive is raising money for the support group for Ehler-Danlos Syndrome, of which Ryan, who died in 2009, had Type IV vascular. To sponsor Joanne go to www.justgiving.com /Joanne-Tomlin0.
