TENANTS are preparing to move into new Boscombe homes as building work to demolish 16 bedsits and construct new flats comes to an end.
The £900,000 project in Florence Road was commissioned by Dave Wells and construction was carried out by Moordown-based Glossbrook Builders.
Almost all of the 12 one-bed flats have already been let.
Steve Wells, managing director of DWP Housing Partnership, said: “We hope the tenants who move in will lay roots here and become active members of the local community.
“Flats with private facilities make for much better living environments than houses of multiple occupation and we’re determined to convert as many of our bedsits into flats as possible over the coming years.” DWP Housing Partnership was established as Dave Wells Properties back in 1985 and said that it has more than 150 properties under construction.
