SOME may consider it to be no kind of justice at all.
The man who took the life of Ray Tutton on a pedestrian crossing, as he walked home with his wife on Christmas Eve, has been sent to jail for just over three years.
Malaysian father of two, Peter Chen, will probably be out in two.
The maximum sentence he could have received was 14 years.
Chen compounded his crime of death by dangerous driving by failing to stop at the scene. He was caught by a quick thinking member of the public who followed him.
It must add to the injury that Mr Tutton’s family have suffered, that the accident happened as Chen was rushing back to a casino.
Any sentence wouldn’t have been enough because as Mrs Tutton said, nothing can bring her husband back.
A sense that justice had been done might at least have been some tiny crumb of comfort.
